It’s sometimes said that charity websites can look depressingly similar (not ours, mind!). They can feel a bit worthy, like the online equivalent of a bowl of bran flakes; good for you, perhaps, but hardly something you’re looking forward to. Not so the new Body and Soul website lovingly crafted by Provokateur.

As websites go, Body and Soul was always going to be an ambitious project – after all, they’re ambitious people. The final site, however, is an impressive mix of design, function and content that immediately stands out and impresses the visitor.

Produced in Wordpress and incorporating a fat whack of video and animation, the site is immediately engaging. The slideshow format supports text, PDFs, videos and images, presenting a rich range of content to site visitors. Naturally, it’s seamlessly integrated with Facebook, Twitter and Just Giving.

You can see the site here. Please do – they’re a great organisation who now have a great website!

With a pile of pens, a stack of paper and heaps of hands-on help, Provokateur has created a new 45 second hand-drawn stop frame animation for Christian Aid's 'Nets Now' campaign.

This long-gestating labour of love gets it’s first public airing from today to coincide with World Mosquito Day on Saturday 20th August and to reinvigorate the ongoing campaign.

Malaria kills a child in Africa every 45 seconds and yet is easily preventable. Chemically treated mosquito nets are one of the most effective ways to tackle the disease and only cost £3. Working with the Christian Aid team, Provokateur created a rather lovely stop frame animation to describe the problem and establish the solution. The animation can be seen above and please be sure to visit the Nets Now campaign site here to find out more and to Send a Net.

Special mention and thanks go to Rosie, Evan, Kieran, all at Open Fundraising and Stuart at Candle for all their help and dedication in making this happen. Truly a labour of love!

Open Fundraising is a hot charity fundraising agency working with some of the biggest charities out there. They're also friends of ours who we are always happy to work with. Cos they're so damn good.

Chatting with Tim and James (Open’s founders), Josh couldn’t resist opening his big mouth with wild claims about how much better their website could be if they would only let Provokateur loose on it. Foolishly, they let us. One thing led to another and before we knew it, we ended up re-branding them too. Just seemed to happen like.

Anyhoo, their new branding and website went live to the world this week and we think it looks tippity top. More importantly, the Open Team seem pretty chuffed too.

This week Provokateur launched an exciting new campaign website for London based charity Body&Soul. The Life in my Shoes campaign aims to challenge stigmas and prejudices against HIV positive young people.

Provokateur were proud to help launch Body&Soul’s Life in my Shoes campaign website this week. As Ros Burkinshaw from Body&Soul explains: “The goal of Life in My Shoes is to talk to young people about HIV in a language they understand, to put the stories of their peers at the forefront, to dispel myths and engage them with the subject matter in a way that is both engaging and educational.”

As part of the awareness campaign a Life in my Shoes film is being produced, and young people between the ages of 14 – 21 are invited to audition for a part in the film. Anyone interested can go to the site, where there is a specific audition script available to download. Young people can then record their auditions on their phones, webcams or video cameras and upload their videos directly to the site. It’s a completely fresh and innovative way for a charity to engage the notoriously hard to reach youth audience, and on a pretty tricky subject.

This being a youth focused campaign, Facebook and Twitter will of course play a major role in encouraging auditionees to take part and to spread the word about the campaign. The pick of the best auditions will be available to view on Facebook, and social networks will play a big part in the development and launch of the film later this year.

Third Sector magazine have already picked it up as their Digital Campaign of the Week. And with actors from teen drama favourites ‘The Inbetweeners’ and ‘Misfits’ supporting the campaign, we’re expecting this to be a very successful campaign for Body&Soul.
