The BP logo was created when the company went ‘Beyond Petroleum’ in 2000 – evidently a journey that was very shortlived. This time, Greenpeace is helping out with a logo competition that is generating designs more accurately depicting what the company is about.
It’s exactly the kind of campaigning we like: quick off the mark, super creative, self generating and highly likely to be annoying the hell out of BP. Although in fairness, they’ve probably got bigger problems on their mind right now… Last we heard, over 1,300 entries had been uploaded to Greenpeace’s Behind the Logo Flickr account and nearly 2 million people had checked it out. Not bad!
